Which retailers and product pages Vinegar works on, and what it reads from the page.

Vinegar only runs on certain retailer websites, and only on product pages where it can read a brand name.
Supported retailers
If you are on a different website, the extension popup will say the site is not supported.
What counts as a product page
Vinegar needs a normal product detail page, not a search result page, cart, or homepage.
Amazon: URLs that include a product ID, such as /dp/… or /gp/product/…
Walmart: Product pages under /ip/…
Target: Product pages under /p/…/A-…
If you are on Amazon, Walmart, or Target but not on a product page, the popup will say “Product page not detected”. Navigate to an individual product and open the popup again.
What Vinegar reads from the page
The extension looks for brand information in the product details on the page. On Amazon it checks several places (brand snapshot, byline, product tables) and uses the most reliable match it finds.
It does not send your full page URL, cart contents, or prices to Vinegar. Only the brand name is used for the lookup and is the only piece of information we need to connect a brand to its ownership chain.
Amazon works everywhere Vinegar is installed
Amazon and all of its regional equivalents are included on the free plan. Walmart and Target require Premium. See our article on “Premium Retailers” for more information.
